A “post growth society”?! Wtf! We are living in a post rational, post science, post critical thinking, post freedom America. I pray it can be turned around.

My AI says that we don't need the WEF, so let's liquidate them.

I’d be okay with getting rid of a few industries. Most, NOT all, of the pharmaceutical industry could go away and we’d be healthier for it. I certainly wouldn’t miss all the cheap disposable plastic crap flooding our shores from China either.

They want us to be animals in cages dependent on them for our existence. There is no amount of money and power that would compel me to engineer such a society. And I wouldn't wish such a life on my worst enemy. We had no idea how good life was before 2020. I will not comply with this tyranny.

To me, this is just the 2.0 version of Marxism -- i.e. applying scientific rationalism to human beings in order to create utopia with maximised efficiency for everyone, free of the imperfections of human decision making. Although in theory, it should work in the minds of some, in practice it never has. However, the WEF would seem to think that this time it will work if augmented with AI so as to keep the system self-adjusting and adapting. Don't think it's going to work this time either.

Infinite growth for 7 billion people is a myth on a finite planet... But as ever it seems like they're trying to shoehorn in their own agenda. I mean, resources are finite.. but the real problem is that we the masses are using them all up and if they the elite are going to live for 500 years to infinity...as they wish with transhumanism.. then they're going to need those resources for themselves!

AI has already got a good idea of where it’s heading.

It’s all based on this ridiculous idea that CO2 is bad for the planet (whereas in fact the more CO2, the more plants thrive). The same way that in the Nederlands nitrogen is supposed to be bad for the planet (again: the more nitrogen in the soil, the more plants thrive). The same way that sun is bad for the planet (hence, B. Gates’brilliant idea to block sun’s rays by throwing reflecting particles in the atmosphere). The same way plastic straws are bad for the planet (but billions of tons of covid masks are ok). The same way that having more babies is bad for the planet.

The list goes on and on and on. Everything that has a positive impact on Life, is blamed. Well, Life itself is portrayed as … deadly (yeah go figure!).

These WEF nutcases have a death wish and are dragging us with them.

It makes me so mad that sometimes i can’t breathe.

I put myself in the shoes of a young person who has been brainwashed since they were born by the same BS message repeated over and over: “oh my God the end is near if we keep being happy and thriving we will all die and worse: the planet will die”. If they watch that video they will agree and ask for more.

How can we stop this abject manipulation?

What utter nonsense. They are using a Strawman argument that "Infinite Growth" is not possible. Oh well, duh. Like a rock is hard and water is wet. Geniuses. That silly "Infinite Growth" argument is so far away from any relevance whatsoever to our current & future economic issues that you might as well be talking about the death of the sun in a few billion years.

How do these blithering idiots figure we have "infinite growth"? The World population is already stabilizing. We have already surpassed Peak Children. The population is projected to peak at 10-12B by end of this century, then decline. And that's before taking into account all the birthrate declines and deathrate increases of the past 2 yrs. Supplying a high standard of living for 12B is a minor issue, easily achieved with present day tech. Nowhere near any resource constraints.

And these idiots confuse natural resources with natural raw materials. Resources are materials that current tech has made useful. Oil was never a resource until we figured out how to use it. When we move to nuclear power oil may no longer be a resource.

I think they won’t be shutting down any industries the elites have or want.

The third tier of Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs is the need for Belonging and Love. While love seems harder and harder to find, AI is giving us all the acknowledgement that we exist. We now are given programmed prompts from our computers and telephones that remind us of appointments. We are constantly asked to review the services and products we use. It all is to give us the impression that we are valued. It is a shame that none of it is real.

Weaning off of the idea that a company / industry must 'grow' in order to be successful is actually something that great people have been calling for for decades. A lot of the terrible economic things that happen --- for instance, the company leaders restructure for short-term gains to give stakeholders fabulous growth in one year -- millions of dollars in bonuses to themselves as a reward, then totally bankrupting the retirement funds and all of their workers are on the street having lost their life security: these things happen because of the obsession with perpetual economic growth.

An alternative would be redefining what we consider to be successful: did my company produce useful, high quality products that make the world a better place, avoiding destructive and unhealthy practices? Were we able to provide living wages and good work-life balance for the people employed here? Are our leaders worthy of respect and abstaining from greed? If we succeeded in doing all of this and made exactly the same amount of money as last year, -- or at least managed to keep doing business comfortably -- that would be called 'success' in a non-growth-focused context.

This well-balanced scenario is never allowed to happen in a growth-oriented economy, because to improve the bottom line, you need to squeeze every last drop from employees, cut corners, play dirty tricks - just to be better than last year. Most of the time growth can't be expected to happen indefinitely -- thus it needs to be achieved artificially and brutally.

Why this idea is being promoted by these people is of course worth raising an eyebrow about.
